Genetic selection of dairy cattle has been the major method to improve productivity for an individual animal. However, selection has been focused primarily on key economical production traits, and more recently, reproduction and health traits. Genomic technology now allows for the identification of multiple other traits without neglecting productivity. Webinars are targeted for dairy producers/managers, veterinarians, consultants, industry, undergraduate/graduate students, and Extension/academia.
This webinar series represent phenotypic and genomic information from about 12,000 lactating dairy cows from across the US (Geographical regions: Northwest, Midwest, Southeast, and Southwest).
